In less than a month, certification for tourist guides and guide interpreters will be mandatory in Russia. From July 1, 2024, it will be illegal to provide sightseeing services without the certification (Federal Law No. 93-FZ dated April 20, 2021 On Amendments to the Federal Law On the Basics of Tourist Activity in the Russian Federation regarding the legal regulation of the activities of guides (tourist guides), guide interpreters and instructor guides).
This legal provision is aimed at regulating the services of tour guides and guide interpretors, which will help to clear the market for excursion services from incompetent service providers and will foster a positive perception of Russia as a secure and welcoming destination for travel and leisure.
To this date, the federal register of tour guides and guide interpretors includes 48 certified guides in the Rostov region, and 27 of them offer excursions around Rostov-on-Don.
If you have any questions about the certification, please call the Economic Development Ministry of the Rostov region at +7 (863) 240-59-86.
