Azov has rich and eventful history! Many peoples lived there: Scythians, Sarmatians, Greeks, Cumans, Tartars, Turks, Russians… Azov witnessed great historic victories and huge human tragedies!

You should visit Azov to experience the following:

• to feel what Cossacks felt when they seized Azov in 1639–1642,

• to go up the fortress’s ramparts, like Peter I did in 1696,

• to see a whale in the Local Lore Museum, which is 40 million years old,
