Rostov Zoo is a miraculous world of animals from five continents. There live bears, wolves, hippopotamuses, monkeys, lions and tigers. Also, the zoo boasts rare white rhinoceroses, Rothschild's giraffes, a wide collection of cranes. Plus, Rostov Zoo has Russia’s most complete collection of anthropoid apes, including white-handed gibbons, chimpanzees, orangutans. Rostov Zoo takes one of the first places in Europe in breeding white-tailed eagles. The zoo also has an aquarium, which exhibits versatile sea animals – from local fishes to rare freshwater stingrays and crabs from South America. The terrarium has crocodiles from Southeast Asia, various turtles, snakes from the Middle East, Africa, America and other exotic reptiles.
