Around Rostov in Three Hours

Rostov has many nicknames: Gates to the Caucasus, Southern Capital, Father Rostov, but what are they associated with and what stories does the city hide? On the walking tour, you will learn how Rostov turned fr om a small village into a million-plus city. You will walk along all the old bystreets of Rostov, where you will learn about the criminal past of the city. You will walk past the school that Solzhenitsyn attended, learn about the most scandalous robbery of the bank on the spot wh ere it used to be situated and unveil the secret of the Gang of Fantomases – the most famous robbers of Rostov.

You will walk around non-touristic districts to see how Rostovites live. The city, famous for its southern flair, but hospitable in a Caucasian way, will reveal its unique aura. You will be near the building which, according to a local legend, is mentioned in The Twelve Chairs, you will see an advertisement dating back to 1913, come to a church of Old Believers and a merchant’s house – a sight popular with Rostovites.
