Museum of Winemaking and Don Moonshining

The history of ancient Greeks, preserved in wine amphorae, Khazar items and instruments of labor for cultivating vineyards, brilliant feast culture of the times of the Azov campaigns of Peter I, taking meals by Ataman M. I. Platov during the war with Napoleon, vines of the Danube, the Rhein and the banks of the Rhone are history and traditions of the winemaking museum. The last Romanov Tsar of Russia (from 1682) and the first Emperor of All Russia (from 1721) Peter I, after successful Azov campaigns (1695-1696) arrived at Cherkassk in 1696 accompanied with the Ataman and generals. The Don Ataman Frol Minaev gave a dinner to the Tsar, his retinue and Cossacks, heroes of the Azov Siege, in his house in Cherkassk.
