Underground Masterpieces of Rostov
The unique ceramic panels are located in five underground passages of Rostov, which are more than 40 years old, and they are on the regional cultural heritage list.
Their authors are an architect Yury Labintsev and workers of Mostootryad No. 10. All the panels were hand-carved from tiles, painted, fired and then put together into stunning pictures with various subjects, featuring amazing portrait-like resemblance to real people.
They show the history of the heroic days of the Great Patriotic War, literary characters from Sholokhov's works, space exploits and fragments from life of Soviet people.
They are so amazing, nostalgical and touching… They make Rostov inimitable to any other city on the Earth!
