The rating is based on passengers’ reviews.
“This May we are to go through a specialized expert audit of Skytrax, following which the airport receives a star rating. Passenger appreciation gives us additional confidence and is their vote of confidence at the same time”, says Sergey Krasnov, Executive Director of JSC RostovAeroInvest. Airports of Samara and Yekaterinburg also hit the top list.
Platov Airport started accommodating regular flights on December 7, 2017, when the old airport in Sholokhov Avenue was closed. The new air terminal has an acceptance rate of 1,791 passengers per hour or about 5 million passengers per year. Nine jet bridges operate there. 47 billion rubles were spend to construct Platov, with Renova Group of Companies investing 19 billion. It has a payback period of 20 years. They plan to develop both regional and international route networks on its base and enhance travel service.
