Misha Marker, a conceptual artist from St Petersburg, created a picture for Rostov that needs interaction on the part of viewers. It looks incomplete without a person – and to make the picture complete, a viewer has to step onto the pedestal and turn into the vertical line of the letter K.
A human needs a human. Perhaps, without each other, people are incomplete; perhaps, they are complete, but they need others – friends, romantic partners and relatives – for total harmony. Whatever the case, Misha leaves interpretation of the work, its message and all guesses to viewers.
Misha Marker is a real legend of St Petersburg’s street art. He is an anonymous artist famous for his hard-hitting social posters. He said several times that it was important for him to go out to have a dialog with city-dwellers. It is not the first visit of Misha to Rostov – last year he created a work titled Reminder, a yellow sticker with an inscription “Lyubit” (English: To Love), and this year he took part in the open-air exhibition at B53 Space and walked around the city, leaving texts on the old ruinated houses.
