Student with a Record Book Sculpture

The monument was inaugurated on September 1, 2017 near Building 8 of Don State Technical University in Gagarin Square. On the inauguration day, Besarion Meskhi, President of Don State Technical University, and guests of honor put marks in marker into the cat's record book, and these marks were later engraved in bronze.

The sculpture's author is Evgeny Osipov, the university's graduate, who won the first prize in the competition of sketches among the university's students.

The cat weighs 50 kg, it is 70 cm tall. It is sitting proudly on the basement of white granite, which weighs six tons. The record book is under its right paw.
