On May 8, 2020, a monument to a local violin-player Solomon Telesin, or simply Monya, was inaugurated at the intersection of Pushkinskaya Street and Sokolov Avenue. He was born in 1926 in Rostov. In 1944, he was called into the Red Army and sent to the front, where he was a machine gunner. He returned to his native city in the late 1940s, he had received several war decorations, including the Order of the Red Star. Monya played the violin in the city’s restaurants all his life. Rostov’s Paganini died on May 2, 1996.
