City of Military Glory Stele:

The stele is located in Pervomaysky District of Rostov-on-Don. It was set up after the city received a national honorary title of the City of Military Glory. The stele was inaugurated on May 6, 2010, before the Victory Day. The square in front of the airport terminal also changed its name into Square of Military Glory. There is a good reason for the location of the memorial. The North-Eastern Group of the Front aimed its main devastating stroke exactly at this spot.

The stele is a circular column made of red granite, it is 6.5 meters high and is topped with the Russian national emblem. The basement features an emblem of the city and a text of the Order of the President Dmitry Medvedev on giving the title to the city.
