No to Genocide Monument

No to Genocide Monument is unique in its way. It is located in Frunze Park, Rostov-on-Don, in front of the Armenian Apostolic Surb Aryutyun Church. The memorial was installed in 2015 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire and became a symbol of protest against ethnicity-based discrimination.

No to Genocide Monument commemorates victims of the tragedy of 1915. 100 years ago, the Armenians faced an ordeal in their history – for seven years the Ottoman Empire committed genocide against the Armenians, over 1.5 million people perished, including representatives of other nationalities: Greeks, Assyrians, Jews. Russia was one of the first countries to condemn this terrifying event.
