Monument to Mikhail Zhvanetsky
The monument to Mikhail Zhvanetsky, a Soviet and Russian satirical writer, was unveiled in Rostov-on-Don on February 13, 2024.
The monument, made by sculptor Andrey Polyanichko, is located on Pushkinskaya Street. Governor Vasily Golubev, the writer's family, and dozens of Rostov residents attended the opening ceremony. The satirist's friend, the well-known singer and guitarist Evgeny Margulis, performed a song to the guitar.
Mikhail Zhvanetsky died on November 6, 2020, at the age of 87, after a long illness. He was a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, a People's Artist of Ukraine, and a laureate of the Russian President's Award.
