Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts
The museum as an independent facility has operated since 1938. The museum’s collection includes about 6,000 works of pictorial, graphic, sculptural and decorative and applied arts.
The old mansion surrounded with a wrought-iron fence was built in 1898 by a famous local architect N. A. Doroshenko. The Children’s Art Gallery (Chekhov Avenue, 60), one of the museum’s departments, was reconstructed in 2009. A Western European room and a room for temporary exhibitions of modern art were opened. A storage department and a restoration workshop occupy the entire fourth floor.
