Gerasimenko, Vasily Philippovich (1900-1961) – a soviet military commander, Major General.
During the Great Patriotic War general Gerasimenko V.P. took command of the 13th army of the Western Front, troops of which took part in Smolensk battle and led severe fights with the second tank group alignment of the Wehrmacht.
In November 1941 he took command over the troops of the Stalingrad military district.
In September 1942 he took command of the 28th army, which under his command took part in Stalingrad battle, Donbas and Melitopolskaya assault operations.

Герасименко Василий Филиппович (1900–1961) – советский военачальник, генерал-лейтенант.
В годы Великой Отечественной войны генерал Герасименко В.Ф. командовал 13-й армией Западного фронта, принимавшей участие в Смоленском сражении и в тяжёлых боях со 2-й танковой группой Вермахта.
В ноябре 1941 года он был назначен командующим войсками Сталинградского военного округа.
В сентябре 1942 года вступил в командование 28-й армией, которая под его руководством принимала участие в Сталинградской битве, Донбасской и Мелитопольской наступательных операциях.
