A Second Life for Trees
Trees are living beings. And like all living things, they have a beginning and an end to their time. But some trees, even after their natural life cycle is complete, can continue to bring benefit and joy to residents—especially when they grow in busy parts of the city. Through the magic of skilled craftspeople, fairy-tale characters and amazing sculptures are born from their trunks, delighting both children and adults. Right now, exactly this kind of transformation is taking place on Pushkinskaya, the beloved pedestrian street, inspired by the works of Alexander Pushkin: The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish and On Seashore Far a Green Oak Towers. New art objects are appearing there, made from trees that could no longer be saved but are now gaining a second life through art.
If Rostov residents embrace this initiative, it will be expanded to other parts of the city—giving every tree a chance to remain part of our lives, even in a new form.
