Budyonny avenue
Budyonny Semen Mikhailovich (1883-1973) – the Don region native, a hero of the Civil War, Marshal of the Soviet Union, three times a hero of the Soviet Union.
During the Great Patriotic War Budyonny served in the General Headquarters, took part in defense of Moscow, commanded the troops of the South – Western direction, the Reserve Front and the troops of the North Caucasus direction.
From January 1943 he was a chef commander of the cavalry of the Red Army and the member of the Higher Military Council of the Ministry of the armed forces of USSR. He was awarded Lenin orders, 6 Orders of the Red Banner, Suvorov’s order of the 1st degree and other medals. He is still a Honorary citizen of Rostov-on-Don.

Буденный Семён Михайлович (1883–1973) – уроженец Донского края, герой Гражданской войны, маршал Советского Союза, трижды Герой Советского Союза.
Во время Великой Отечественной Буденный входил в состав Ставки Верховного Главнокомандования, участвовал в обороне Москвы, командовал войсками Юго-Западного направления, Резервным фронтом, а также войсками Северо-Кавказского направления.
С января 1943 года командующий кавалерией Советской Армии и член Высшего военного совета министерства Вооруженных Сил СССР. Награждён орденами Ленина, шестью орденами Красного Знамени, орденом Суворова I степени и другими наградами. Почетный гражданин города Ростова-на-Дону.
