Sholokhov Avenue
Mikhail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov (1905-1984), a writer and a public figure, who received the title of the Hero of Socialist Labour twice (in 1967 and in 1980).
He was born in the Don region and lived there. In 1965, M. A. Sholokhov was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature "for the artistic power and integrity with which, in his epic of the Don, he has given expression to a historic phase in the life of the Russian people".
In 1981, as a result of Sholokhov’s efforts, a modern airport was built in Veshenskaya stanitsa. Thanks to Sholokhov’s support, the Don Cossack Museum was opened in Starocherkasskaya stanitsa.
Among his best-known works are And Quiet Flows the Don, Virgin Soil Upturned, They Fought for Their Country, The Fate of a Man.

Шолохов Михаил Александрович (1905-1984) — писатель и общественный деятель, Дважды Герой Социалистического Труда (1967, 1980).
Родился и жил в Донском крае. В 1965 году Шолохов М.А. был удостоен Нобелевской премии по литературе «за художественную силу и цельность эпоса о донском казачестве в переломное для России время».
В 1981 году по результатам инициатив Шолохова в станице Вешенской был построен современный аэропорт. При поддержке Шолохова в станице Старочеркасской открыт музей донского казачества.
Наиболее известные произведения: «Тихий Дон», «Поднятая целина», «Они сражались за Родину», «Судьба человека».
