In Rostov Food Festival will Delight 2018 FIFA World Cup Visitors with Fish and Crayfish
On June 14 to July 15, 2018, fans and guests will be able to visit the gastronomic festivals, Welcome Foodball Cup, in the cities hosting matches of the world’s football competition, reports Oleg Safonov, head of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism). All the 11 festivals will be united under the overarching brand of the Gastronomic Map of Russia.
During the food festivals, visitors will get to know local cuisine of each of the regions. Hence, in Rostov, crayfish and fresh water fish dishes will be in the limelight.
Beside huge variety of food, a show of traveling peddlers, a contest of picnics for football fans, a car fair and local cuisine master classes from chefs are in store for festival visitors.
“These festivals will help to attract attention of the Russian and foreign public to various opportunities to enjoy food and event tourism in Russia. Notably, for 30% of tourists gastronomic specifics become a stimulus to visit a country”, says Oleg Safonov, head of Rostourism.
In Rostov, the gastronomic festival will be held on the embankment of the River Don.
