The Historic Game of FC “Rostov”

It was a frosty, as low as minus 7, unusual for this time of the year, day with ice-cold wind in Rostov-on-Don on November 23, 2016. But it did not stop the fans from stuffing the “Olimp – 2“ stadium to witness the milestone football game. The 5-th  round of the Champions League group stage – FC Rostov, Rostov-on-Don vs FC Bayern, Munich -- resulted with eye-brow raising score 3:2 in favor of FC Rostov.    

The fans of Rostov club got nervous more than once during the sport battle. At first the yellow-and-blue failed a goal. On the minute 44 Rostov players managed to win back a goal, and soon, taking a penalty, pulled away – 2:1.

Unfortunately the advantage of FC Rostov was lost immediately. But players and spectators cheered up again, when Christian Noboa hit a free kick right into the corner. During the remaining time Rostov players valiantly and consistently defended their goal from the furious attacks of FC Bayern Munich. Rostov managed to last also during the 4 minutes added by the referee, and even launched a sharp counterattack, an das a result won a historic victory.                

Goals: Costa, 36 – 0:1, Azmoun 44 – 1:1, Poloz, 49 (penalty goal) – 2:1, Bernat, 51 – 2:2, Noboa, 66 – 3:2.
