The Federal Service for Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare clarified recommendations for hotels during the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier, the authority obliged hotels to report on unmarried couples staying in the same room. Later, the Federal Agency for Tourism clarified for RIA Novosti news agency that hotels would not enquire their guests about marriage certificates. They recommend not to accommodate strangers who are not in contact in their everyday life in one room, to avoid additional risks of infection contamination due to close contact.
The Federal Service for Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare explained, in its turn, that one-person stay is a recommendation. The final decision remains with hotels, comments the Federal Agency for Tourism.
