In the Year of Sports, the city commemorates people who made invaluable contribution into development of sports, their coverage, wrote Aleksey Logvinenko, Head of Administration Office of Rostov.

Today, a memorial plaque to the famous local sports journalist Evgeny Serov was installed on the house at M. Gorky Street, 186.

He devoted his life to work in the press offices and in city-level, regional, national printed sources. Not only did he cover sports, but he was also keen on sports– he was a competitive track and field athlete, footballer and swimmer.
