Rostov-on-Don, City with Taste!

Gastronomic tourism is one of the most popular areas of incoming tourism for Rostov-on-Don. Restaurants of Rostov-on-Don offer various cuisines of the world, and there are numerous facilities that always have local gastronomic dishes on the menu – ukha, a fish soup cooked according to versatile recipes, dishes cooked of wild carp, pike caviar and, of course, crayfish. And soon the Don Herring Festival will take place in restaurants of Rostov-on-Don, where everybody can taste dishes cooked of this famous fish. Earlier, the festival was an open-air event, but due to the pandemic, it was decided to change the format. This year the event will have an unusual format – participating restaurants prepared special seasonal dishes for their guests, the focus is on the local color – inimitable tender Don herring. The festival takes place from May 1 through May 14. Participants include well-known restaurants, such as restaurant of the Don Quixote Hotel, a restaurant of the Kumzha Ethnocomplex and others.
