Monument to Commemorate Combat Medics Perished during the Great Patriotic War and after it
On February 20, 2020, the monument to commemorate combat medics perished during the Great Patriotic War and after it was inaugurated on the premises of the 1602nd military clinical hospital of the Southern Military District. The head of the region V. Golubev and the commander of the troops of the Southern Military District A. Dvornikov took part in the inauguration ceremony.
During the war, 306 army hospitals were organized in the region. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, over 2,000 doctors and 8,000 paramedics were mobilized. They operated on par with soldiers of the Red Army, partisans, homefront workers and hugely contributed to the Victory.
