Alley of Heroes

On May 6, 2019, near the headquarters of the Southern Military District, the Alley of Heroes was formally opened to celebrate the 74^th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 101^st anniversary of foundation of the military district. Busts of Marshals Kliment Voroshilov, Semyon Timoshenko and Ivan Konev and Army General Issa Pliev were installed there. All of them were commanders of troops of the district at different times. Command representatives and officers of the military district, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and army veterans, local residents and representatives of the Young Army movements took part in the ceremony of inauguration of the busts.
