Monument to Artillery Battery of S. Oganov and S. Vavilov

On the high base stands a cannon and figures of five artillerists who, as part of the battery, committed an unfadable act of courage near Rostov-on-Don. The inscription says: “To brave warriors of their Motherland, who covered themselves with eternal glory in battles near Rostov in autumn 1941. A tribute to the battery of S. Oganov and S. Vavilov”. The multi-figure composition shows one of the heroic moments of the  bloody battle on the Western outskirts of Rostov.
