Monument to Builders-Creators

Monument to Builders-Creators

The monument’s authors are sculptor D. Lyndin and architect V. Tarasenko. The sculptural composition is made of bronze and portrays a broad-shouldered young man wearing Slavic clothes. He has a broad and thick beard, his hair is tied with a string, the long clothes are belted, and there is a baptismal cross on his chest. His facial expression is concentrated: he is building an upward ladder of rectangular bricks. The ladder can be regarded as a timeless symbol of movement towards eternity. Indeed, the best architectural structures outlive not only their creators, but also historical periods. The monument is situated in Builders’ Park, which is quite natural.
