Fountain in Gagarin Square:

The unique fountain showing vivid images on water jets was inaugurated on June 1, 2018 in Gagarin Square. The dancing fountain is located in front of the main building of Don State Technical University. The fountain is not just musical, it is a multimedia fountain. Thus, the fountain is equipped with a special projection unit projecting video images on fountain jets that form a 3x5 meter screen of water. Mainly, the emblem of Rostov and the coat-of-arms of Russia are displayed, and you can see them every day, when it gets dark. They also plan to show movies, lectures, themed videos as part of events held in the square. Apart from projecting pictures, the fountain has musical accompaniment. And it makes the fountain truly unique, as it combines all modern technologies and gives viewers a chance to enjoy not just music, light and water, but also images. It is the first multimedia fountain of the city, and its shows fill all the Rostovites with genuine excitement.

The fountain’s basin is 50 centimeters deep, it is 15 meters in diameter, the total number of sprays is 41, they shoot up to 8 meters.

You can watch the multimedia fountain every day, and the light-and-music show is given from 7 to 10 p.m. 

New trees and flowerbeds were planted in the square near the fountain, lawns were laid out. The number of benches was increased, and additional walkways were arranged to ensure comfort of city residents.
