Exhibition Dostoevsky Surrounded by his Characters

Location: Sholokhov Center

The exhibition presents manuscripts with the writer’s sketches, Dostoevsky’s diary and the first editions of his works. Visitors of the exhibition will see how The Brothers Karamazov, one of the major religious philosophy novels not only in Russia, but in the whole world, was created. The exhibition places a special focus on the personality of Dostoevsky. Surrounded by his characters, the novelist will come into view as seen by a sculptor, Honored Artist of Russia L. Baranov. One of the most prominent works is a copy of the author’s sculpture of Dostoevsky installed in Baden-Baden.
