Department of the Rostov Regional Museum of Local History and Geography, located in Gazetny Lane, in a merchant's mansion of the 19th century. You will find stucco decorations of the interiors, made in different styles, a grand marble staircase, exhibitions Musical Salon and Porcelain and Faience, a tour of the mansion, during which you will hear about the history of the building and its owners. The exposition presents musical culture of Rostov-on-Don and Nakhichevan-on-Don in all its diversity: a mechanical piano, a harmonium, various modifications of the gramophone — a cabinet gramophone, the one with a string resonator, music boxes, a Symphonion music box, a portable phonograph, and the pride of the museum is a handmade barrel organ by Nakhichevan master Ivan Sulimenko. Among the exhibits are porcelain and earthenware dishes, reflecting the life of different classes and historical eras: brands of the Popov, Kuznetsovs, Gardner, Kornilovs factories, the Imperial Faience Factory, foreign manufacturers, as well as the Trade House of S.I. Velikanov in Rostov-on-Don, items from order services donated from the Hermitage, propaganda porcelain depicting Soviet symbols.
