Church of the ascension

In December 1868, the Rostov Duma decided, in memory of getting rid of the danger of Emperor Alexander II during the assassination attempt in 1866 and 1867, "to build a chapel on the Boulevard square, at the bottom of the Middle Avenue". But in 1871 it was decided to build a Church not on the Middle Avenue, but on the new Market square of the city.

In 1999, the built bell tower raised the Makovka and the cross, reconstructed the Central dome, reinstalled the quadrangle. The Central bulb and the cross were covered with gold leaf.
