Rivkin Street

Boris Mironovich Rivkin (1919–2004), a pilot, Major General of Aviation, took part in the Great Patriotic War since May 1942. He distinguished himself in fights for the Crimea, in fights near Stalingrad and in the Battle of Kursk. Guards Captain B. M. Rivkin, commander of an air squadron of the 54th Guards Air Fighter Regiment, made 176 operational flights, before the Battle of Kursk was over. During 95 air fights, he shot down 12 enemy’s aircraft personally and 7 aircraft as part of the group.
On 24 August 1943, for the heroism he exhibited, B. M. Rivkin was granted the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union. After B. M. Rivkin, Major General of Aviation, retired, he lived in Rostov-on-Don.


Ривкин Борис Миронович (1919–2004) – летчик, генерал-майор авиации, участник Великой Отечественной войны с мая 1942 года. Отличился в боях за Крым, под Сталинградом и на Курской Дуге. Командир эскадрильи 54-го гвардейского истребительного авиационного полка, гвардии капитан Ривкин Б.М. к моменту окончания Курской битвы совершил 176 боевых вылетов. В 95 воздушных боях сбил лично 12 самолётов противника и 7 — в группе. 24 августа 1943 года летчику за проявленный героизм Ривкину Б.М. было присвоено звание Героя Советского Союза. После отставки генерал-майор авиации Ривкин Б.М. жил в Ростове-на-Дону.
