Tyulenin Street

Sergey Gavrilovich Tyulenin (1925–1943), a member of the Staff of the Young Guard underground organization.
In September 1942, he became one of the leaders of the Young Guard conspirasy Komsomol organization in the city of Krasnodon.
On 6 December 1942, at night, he took part in arson of the German Labour Exchange, saving 2,000 young citizens of Krasnodon from deportation and forced labour in Germany. He was an intelligence man of the Soviet military unit. During one of such missions, he was wounded imprisoned but managed to escape. He returned to Krasnodon, where he was arrested in January 1943, and after cruel tortures, he was shot.
On 13 September 1943, S. G. Tyulenin was posthumously awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union.


Тюленин Сергей Гаврилович (1925–1943) – член штаба организации «Молодая гвардия». В сентябре 1942 года стал одним из руководителей подпольной комсомольской организации «Молодая гвардия» в г. Краснодон. В ночь на 6 декабря 1942 года участвовал в поджоге биржи труда, избавив от угона в Германию две тысяч молодых краснодонцев. Был разведчиком советской воинской части. При выполнении задания ранен, попал в плен, но сумел бежать. Вернулся в г. Краснодон, где уже в январе 1943 года был арестован и после жестоких пыток расстрелян. 13 сентября 1943 года Тюленин С.Г. был посмертно удостоен звания Героя Советского Союза.
