The Rostov region is ready to welcome tourists and guests of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

At a meeting arranged by the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm), Evgeny Mamichev, Deputy Minister for Economic Development of the region, reported that the Rostov region was ready to welcome tourists and guests of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

“We are actively getting ready to welcome guests. First, it is about accommodating supporters of the national teams,” says Evgeny Mamichev. “Necessary hotel accommodation was prepared, collective accommodation facilities were classified, tourist routes were developed.”

The Deputy Minister also told about the Don Welcome Center aimed to assist in accommodating 2018 FWC visitors. The Center’s employees speak foreign languages, information on the website https://welcomernd.ru/ is provided in the Russian and five foreign languages: English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

The Center offers a wide range of services. It will have Wi-Fi hotspots, large screens to watch matches of the international championship. The location will also enjoy recreation areas, a first aid room, food courts. They plan to arrange performances of local performance groups for FWC visitors.

To ensure interesting pastime for visitors of the 2018 FWC, the regional authorities intensively support a series of gastronomic festivals branded as the Gastronomic Map of Russia. New suggestions on street food are developed. They plan to present new offers at the food and football festival that takes place in Rostov-on-Don on June 17 – when Brazil plays against Switzerland.
