Don Region to be Part of Global Tourist Itinerary, Golden Ring of Bosporan Kingdom

The Rostov region will participate in delivering the project, the Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom.

The project will include itineraries related to the history of the Cimmerian Bosporus, monuments located in 15 cities of southern regions. Itineraries of the Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom will be developed for tourists having bus, car and train tours. For those who prefer to travel by sea, there is another cruising route on board MS Knyaz Vladimir.

The Rostov region presented the city of Azov that had emerged at the place of two ancient towns of Patarva and Paniardis, the Azov History, Archaeology and Paleontology Museum Preserve and the Tanais Archaeological Museum Preserve. These tourist attractions can be a perfect start for a grand and interesting tour introducing to the ancient world. It was also noted that the heritage of the Don River area was not just monuments and modern top-class museum complexes, the region offers entertainment programs for tourists, well-developed transport infrastructure also contributes to active operation of the hospitality industry.

Foreign and Russian tour operators have already got involved into developing package tours. Sightseeing tour packages and tourist products will be ready by the end of this year.
