From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018, the Don River Festival will be held in the pedestrian area of Rostov’s embankment (between Budennovsky Avenue and Gazetny Lane). The festival has become quite a tradition, and every year it gathers thousands of people living in the city and in the Don region. 

The event is aimed to enhance tourism attractiveness of Rostov-on-Don, to build the city’s brand recognition. 

Visitors of the festival will have a chance to plunge into Soviet and Pre-Revolution historical periods of the city, take part in free tours around the embankment, taste local dishes, try their hand in local crafts, painting or have a look at photos featuring the Don River, measure their strength in arm-wrestling or take part in a fishing competition. Those who participate in numerous contests can expect prize drawing. Younger and older kids will enjoy an entertainment program, face painting, a petting zoo, wh ere they will be able to play with animals and feed them.

Along with it, at the festival fry will be released into the Don River for the first time to replenish its bio resources.

Rostovites are in for a surprise at the festival closing ceremony – that’s a performance of a national A-lister.
