They plan to open a memorial flat of Sabina Spielrein, a world-renowned scientist, in Rostov-on-Don in November 2020. It will be a whole flat with its restored old-time, pre-Revolution interiors, and it will be a venue for themed events to commemorate this scientist. Sabina spent her childhood and youth in this flat. The girl left the city in 1904: she was sent to Switzerland to be treated for a mental illness. There she met the famous psychoanalyst С. Jung. In 1924, Spielrein came back to her native city, Rostov-on-Don. In August 1942, during the occupation of the city, the 56-year-old Sabina, two daughters of hers and thousands of other people were murdered by the Nazi in Zmievskaya balka. They plan to open the memorial flat by November 7 – to celebrate Sabina’s birthday. The flat has two rooms, one of them is a large hall with a large balcony.
