GOLDEN RING OF BOSPORAN KINGDOM PROJECT – FOUNDATION LAID

Tourists now have an opportunity to take part in the new project which unites 10 cities and towns and 4 settlements located in Krasnodar, Rostov regions, Crimea and Sevastopol, integrated into one itinerary which is combined with doing famous sights.

The Bosporan Kingdom or Borporus (meaning “strait” in Greek) is an ancient state established in the 5th century BC as a result of merging Greek settlements located on the present-day Kerch and Taman peninsulas, it controlled areas and towns situated on both peninsulas, stretching from Feodosia to present-day Novorossiysk. The Lower Don River area and the Azov Sea area were considered the northernmost territory of the Bosporan Kingdom. Settlements in the estuaries of the Kuban and Don Rivers, including ancient Tanais, acknowledged the omnipotence and power of the Bosporan Kingdom.

Now there are all the prerequisites for this tour: opening of the road service with Crimea, improved infrastructure and a decision made to restore Black Sea cruises.

“The project is targeted both at foreigners and at Russian tourists. Traditionally, antiquity is one of the most interesting directions and it hits top lines in the world. We spark interest in young people with interactive expositions, quests and events in the project venues.”
