Commercial building of the city governor I. N. Zvorykin
The building was erected in the art nouveau style in 1914 under the project of architect V. V . Popov, graduate of the Saint-Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineering. Initially it held the administration office of Rostov-on-Don and the apartment of the governor I. N. Zvorykin.
After nationalization the Communist party officials were accommodated here. From 1923 to 1926 the writer and playwright Vladimir Kirshon, one of the founders of the writers’ association and literature Russian Association of Proletarian Writers, used to live. In autumn 1924 Alexander Fadeyev stayed in this house.
